Does the kind of document described in Two Takeoff Meetings necessarily include a defense of the Craft?
The Agile Manifest principles act to raise the status of the team (compared to the status quo):
* The best architectures, requirements, and designs emerge from **self-organizing teams**.
* At regular intervals, **the team reflects** on how to become more effective, then tunes and adjusts its behavior accordingly.
The LAWST workshops were the seedbed of what later came to be called "context-driven testing
," which had a strong emphasis on manual (exploratory) testing as Craft. In fairness, that attitude is not evident in LAWST text, though it definitely existed in the community. Pushing back against the notion that manual testers were just "monkeys pressing buttons" was a big thing to that gang of people.
